Putting pressure on the teeth means soreness. This soreness can be pronounced during the first few days after putting in a fresh set of aligners. This is normal. It is a sign that the aligners are working and moving your teeth. It eventually wanes, and we recommend you can follow these steps to make treatment as comfortable as possible:
- Wax – you will find this in your starter kit. Dry the aligner in the area that is causing irritation and apply a small amount of wax to the area. Make sure you warm the wax with your hands before applying.
- Nail File – this will also be in your starter kit. File off any rough edges.
- Wear it – the longer you wear the aligners, the quicker your body will adapt and the discomfort will subside
- Use over the counter pain medication
