How do I know my rapid palatal expander is working? Also referred to as RPE device

The gap – You may notice a temporary gap develop between the upper front central teeth in the first 2-3 weeks after turning with the key.  This is an excellent sign the appliance is working well. The gap will usually close by itself over course of the treatment so don’t panic. Not everyone gets this gap, so don’t worry if you don’t.
