COVID-19 Update as of 2nd August 2021

Please be aware that the information below is specific to the current situation as of the date above and note that the answers below may vary significantly pending future updates

Due to current circumstances relating to the COVID-19 lock-down, we have had to close our business and are only able to see urgent orthodontic appointments this week. We are reviewing the appointments scheduled this week, one day at a time, to see if your appointment meets the definition of “urgent” or not. Either way, please stay close to your phone and keep checking your Dental monitoring app for a message regarding if your appointment is still going ahead this week or if you need to call us to reschedule it. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Please continue to wear your last aligners full time as they are essential to keep your teeth in their current position and are designed to last for many months if needed. Please refer to the cleaning tips below about how to keep them looking clear and clean.

Stop wearing all elastics immediately so that your bite doesn’t move in the wrong direction. Continue wearing aligners full time so your teeth do not become crooked. Continue taking your Dental Monitoring scans (for those who are being monitored this way) and following Dr Semaan prompts via the app.

Stay in the current aligners you are in and keep wearing them full-time. Follow instructions from Dental Monitoring and contact us through your Dental Monitoring app so we can let you know what to do next.
Unless lockdown extended beyond Sunday 8th August, please visit our office next week to grab more up or if you live far away we can organise for them to be posted out to you.
The best way to keep aligners clean is to use an electric toothbrush and “Aligner Bright” foam. If you do not have an electric toothbrush, the next best option is to use a manual medium bristled toothbrush and scrub them twice daily under cold or warm (not hot) water. Ensure you scrub both the inside and outside of the aligners.
Contact us through your Dental Monitoring app immediately. If this happens outside of our business hours (Mon-Fri 8 am- 5 pm), move into your most recent aligner and one of our staff will call you back ASAP. If you have accidentally thrown out your last aligner, move onto your next aligner and follow the same steps above. Continue to wear full time (22hours/day) and use your chewies twice daily for 2 minutes on each spot we have shown you to chew on.
Please call our office on 07 55933733 immediately. If this occurs after hours then please send an email to admin@clearsmilesorthodontics.com.au with details of which retainer you lost, when you lost them and we will contact you back and advise what to do next. If only lost one retainer (for example you lost the upper), please keep wearing the one you haven’t lost/damaged (e.g. lower) every night. If you have your models that the retainers were made on, please let us know immediately as we may not need a new scan and as such this can significantly speed up the time to make the new retainer(s) and reduce the replacement cost for the new retainer(s).

These items can be found in your start bag that was given when you had your braces bonded. If you are unable to find these items, try buying an alternative product like Bonjela/SM-33 found in supermarkets or chemists. If the ulcer or discomfort does not improve then please contact the office on 07 5593 3733 and we will advise what to do next.

d. The hook my elastics connect(s) to breaks? Stop wearing all elastics immediately so that your bite doesn’t move in the wrong direction and contact the office on 07 5593 3733.
